Digital nomad residency path

Obtaining a Digital Nomad visa or other residency permits in Brazil involves specific documentation and procedures. For those applying from third countries, it's crucial to clarify with the Brazilian consulate which documents require translation and by whom. Russia uses notarial translation, not 'judicial translators'. If obtaining a student visa outside Brazil, it must be registered with the Federal Police upon arrival to receive a residency permit (Visto Temporário/Autorização de Residência). Alternatively, one can apply for a study-based residency permit directly at the Federal Police in Brazil. Importantly, a study-based residency permit can be converted to another type of permit without leaving the country.

The Digital Nomad Visa for Brazil can be applied for either from Russia (leading to a visa which is then converted to a residency permit upon arrival) or directly from within Brazil (resulting in a residency card after approval from the Ministry of Justice and Federal Police). The 'Em Trâmite' status can persist for several months.
