As of December 30, 2022, travelers entering or exiting Brazil can carry up to US$10,000 (or equivalent in other currencies) without mandatory declaration.
Previously, the limit was R$10,000. For amounts exceeding US$10,000, travelers must submit the 'Traveler’s Electronic Declaration of Goods (e-DBV)' to Customs, declaring the cash, checks, and traveler's checks held.
