A standard work certificate without specified leave dates was accepted by some, while others found clarity on travel routes: after exiting the Schengen zone, subsequent travel plans (e.g., through China without pre-booked tickets) are not scrutinized, as long as intra-Schengen travel is documented. Medical insurance is crucial; students starting studies in September may need separate travel insurance for the period before university coverage begins, ideally for the entire trip duration. Visa appointment slots, especially in Moscow, are highly competitive and can be booked within an hour, requiring diligent monitoring of official channels.

When submitting passport copies, include the main biodata page and pages with all existing visas and entry/exit stamps. If you have a second valid passport with visas, provide copies of its relevant pages as well. It is advisable to clarify with the visa application center which specific pages of the passport need to be copied, as unnecessary copies (like blank pages) might not be required and could incur extra charges.

Avoid using third-party travel agencies for bookings, as invalid or non-verifiable reservations lead to high rejection rates. Any change to the itinerary (hotels, dates) after visa issuance must be reported to the consulate via email with updated documentation to avoid visa revocation.
