Driving in the UK, including Scotland, is feasible even for those new to right-hand traffic. Key aspects include:
- **Familiarization:** While initial adjustments to right-hand driving and roundabouts are necessary, observation and experience lead to comfort.
- **Rental Cars:** Unlimited mileage options are available, but one-way rentals can be more expensive. Deposits are standard and usually returned promptly.
- **Fuel Costs:** Petrol prices are high, so monitoring fuel levels is crucial, especially in remote areas like national parks.
- **Road Safety:** Be aware of wildlife (deer, sheep) and strictly adhere to speed limits, as tolerances are low.
- **Documentation:** International Driving Permits are not required for Russian citizens due to the Vienna Convention. A passport may not always be requested during rental, but booking confirmation and a driving license are essential.
