To visit a Schengen area country (e.g., Santorini, Greece) from Cyprus, a Schengen visa is mandatory; a Cypriot national visa is insufficient. For re-entry to Cyprus after a Schengen visit, a double-entry Cypriot visa is typically required. A multiple-entry Schengen visa negates the need for a Cypriot visa for such itineraries. Regular Russian tourists currently face difficulties obtaining multiple-entry Schengen visas.

Cyprus is changing its visa application process
Cyprus is changing its visa application process. As of June 13th, BLS visa centers will no longer accept applications. All visa applications will now be processed directly at the Cypriot consulates in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, and Yekaterinburg. This is expected to be a temporary measure pending a new agreement with a visa center. Previously, Cyprus had opened 8 visa centers across Russia, with a service fee of 164 euros.
