Kufar Registration in Belarus: what actually matters to know

To use Kufar effectively, especially for interacting with sellers or landlords, a local Belarusian phone number is often recommended or required for registration and verification. Russian phone numbers may face limitations, and accounts linked to them might be restricted or blocked. While it might be possible to register with a Russian number initially, obtaining a Belarusian SIM card is often suggested for full functionality. Some users have reported issues with blocked accounts, potentially due to inactivity of the associated SIM card or platform-specific restrictions.

Registration often requires a local Belarusian SIM card. Non-residents may struggle to register; some users bypass this by registering via social media (VK) or asking locals to provide contact details from listings. Payment is usually processed via local bank transfers as per regulations.

It is not possible to register using a Russian mobile number or email. Remote eSIM registration is also not feasible. Registration for certain functions like booking might be possible, but for listing items, it is typically required to be physically present in Belarus.
