Concerns have been raised about the legitimacy of purchasing Rio Carnival tickets from platforms like GetYourGuide and similar sites, especially when official guides state tickets are unavailable. These toys are now being resold on platforms like OLX for significantly higher prices (starting from 160-170 Brazilian Reais). Be extremely cautious of resellers and unofficial channels due to widespread scams. It is advisable to buy tickets directly from official vendors.

A user reported successfully buying tickets using a Brazilian card (even if not matching their account details) without a VPN, suggesting that access to a local payment method is key.
