Using eSIM for connectivity

Using a Russian SIM card for international roaming in Brazil can be expensive. It is recommended to use electronic SIM cards (eSIMs) for data in 180 countries, offering potentially better rates than standard roaming. Kaspersky provides such services with easy setup, 24/7 online support, and payment options for Russian cards. A promo code TRAVELASK3 offers a 20% discount on the first purchase (excluding the unlimited plan). Connection is quick and can be done before departure or upon arrival.

The Rock in Rio Club card can be purchased on Trip.com, which is reported to offer competitive prices. Users confirm good network reception, including 5G, when using these eSIMs in Brazil.

To acquire a Brazilian SIM card without a CPF: 1. Physical SIM: Attempt to buy from small kiosks or metro vendors; some may register it using their own CPF (reliability varies). 2. eSIM: Purchase an eSIM online from platforms like Trip.com for internet access, which typically does not require a CPF.

Users frequently inquire about eSIM pricing discrepancies for Brazil (e.g., why a 'Global' 1GB package might be cheaper than a 'Latin America' 1GB package that includes Brazil). They also ask about the technical feasibility of combining or stacking different regional eSIM packages (e.g., purchasing a 'Global' 1GB first, then a 'Latin America' 1GB) to meet minimal data needs for messaging and taxi services.

Travelers can use eSIMs in Brazil to access taxi apps like Uber and 99. A local phone number is generally not required for these apps to function, as long as the Uber account is verified (passport photo and selfie). Payment can be linked to an international card, and a cash payment option in Uber is also available in some countries. A useful resource for finding eSIM providers is esimdb.com. CPF is not required for eSIM data services.

To get a cheap eSIM for Brazil without needing a local CPF, use Trip.com. Switch the website language to English and search for 'eSim Brazil 5G'. This option is often about 50% cheaper than competitors like Airalo or Yesim, and allows payments using Russian bank cards.

For travelers in Brazil, eSIM options are available. Kaspersky eSIM Store provides internet in over 180 countries, accepting Russian Federation bank cards and offering easy top-ups. A promo code 'TRAVELASK' offers a 20% discount on the first purchase until February 28, 2026. If a specific Brazilian number is required, Uber Chip is mentioned as an option, though acquiring it without an existing number might be challenging.

eSIM services booked via third-party travel aggregators (like Trip.com) in Brazil exhibit unstable connectivity issues, often failing to maintain stable 5G and reverting to slow 3G speeds. This pattern was reported in major tourist hubs: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Foz do Iguaçu.
